Before you go... for the first time

What should I expect...

Do not expect to be a pro on day one, do expect it will be different and sometime hard if you have not done any other sports where you are sideways (skateboarding, ripstick, wakeboarding, long boarding etc.)

Expect you will need to come back a few times (minimally 2-3 more times totaling 8-10 hours of slope times before you can say if its a go or no go for you.

Expect perseverance and determination as you learn the basics

The basics is the foundational block of snowboarding that will always be with you.

Snowboarding is hard to learn, and hard to become decent.....

What should I wear....

For your first time out in the snow, please wear waterproof outerwear (snow melt = water)

  • water proof sports jacket for the weather

  • water proof snow pants

  • water proof gloves

  • long comfortable socks

For your first few times learning how to snowboard, we recommend renting or borrowing some equipment set up by someone who knows how to set it up for you to try.

This will include the following:

  • helmet (fitted to you)

  • snowboard boots (very snug fit as if your boot is loose you won't be able to engage your board)

  • snowboard w/ the bindings (there is no "perfect" size and distance but there are some guidelines that the person setting up your gear will help you with)

Nice to have:
